Mi nombre es Margarita Grijalva y no soy estudiante de medicina, ni mucho menos doctora, solo estoy aquí traduciendo, así que estar rodeada de doctores hablando de trasplantes y operaciones como la cosa más normal del mundo, me ha resultado un tanto extraño y emocionante al mismo tiempo. Me parece increíble ver la capacidad que tienen estos doctores de poner una sonrisa en el rostro de sus pacientes y la amabilidad con la que los tratan, saber que yo ayude a poner esa sonrisa ahí aunque sea de forma mínima, traduciendo un par de palabras, es realmente un bello sentimiento, que te motiva a querer hacer más, mucho más. Esta es mi segunda vez ayudando en Blanca’s House y espero que no sea la última.
My name is Margarita Grijalva and I am not a medical student, much less a doctor, I’m here just translating, so being surrounded by doctors talking about transplants and operations as the most normal thing in the world, I have been somewhat strange and exciting at thebsame time. I find it amazing to see the capacity of these doctors to put a smile on the faces of their patients and the kindness with which they treat, knowing that I helped put that smile there even minimally, translating a few words, it is really a beautiful feeling, which motivates you to want to do more, much more. This is my second time helping Blanca’s House and hopefully not the last.
Mi nombre es Jesús Hidalgo, no soy estudiante de medicina, ni doctor aunque me gustaría serlo estoy aquí porque me gusta la labor social y poder ayudar a las personas que más lo necesitan. La labor que cumplen los doctores americanos es increíble porque ellos tienen la capacidad de hacer sonreír a las personas de casos recursos. El poder ver a un paciente después de su cirugía y saber que está bien y satisfecho con lo que se le ha realizado es nuestra gran recompensa que llena nuestros corazones.
My name is Jesus Hidalgo, I am not a medical student, no doctor but I would be’m here because I like social work and to help people who need it most. The work undertaken by the American doctors is amazing because they have the ability to make people smile case resources. Being able to see a patient after surgery and know you are well and happy with what has been done to him is our great reward that fills our hearts.
Soy lliana San Andrés, esta es la 4ta misión de Blanca’s House a la que vengo y es increíble Como cada experiencia es tan diferente a la anterior! Al Trabajar en las distintas áreas he aprendido muchas cosas, todos los doctores están dispuestos a enseñar y responder todas mis preguntas. He podido poner en práctica lo que me enseñan en la Universidad, pero también he aprendido Como tratar a cada paciente Como lo que es, una persona y no solo un enfermo más. Es muy Lindo ver el esfuerzo y la dedicación de todos quienes Forman parte de la misión y aunque los Días pueden ser extensos y cansados, definitivamente vale la pena cuando se puede ayudar a tantas personas.
I am lliana San Andrés, this is the 4th mission’s of Blanca’s House to which I come and it’s amazing how every experience is so different than before! Working in different areas I have learned many things, all doctors are willing to teach and answer all my questions. I was able to put into practice what they teach me in college, but I’ve also learned how to treat each patient as it is a person and not just another patient. It is very nice to see the effort and dedication of all those who are part of the mission and although the days may be extended and tired, definitely worth it when you can help so many people.
Hello, my name is Mason Remondelli. This is my first mission to Ecuador with Blanca’s House. My grandfather, Hilmar, and my uncle Steven, have been on numerous missions and I wanted to experience the trip first hand. I am a junior in High School and I wanted to come to Ecuador to help people and also see what the medical field is like. I came with the set up and was immediately immersed in a high pace, exciting environment. The trip involved optometry, plastics, and orthopedics, specifically knee surgeries. The ability to give someone the ultimate gift of sight through cataract surgeries and pairing someone with the right pair of glasses is extremely humbling. Something that people in the United States take for granted is such a life changing moment for the Ecuadorian people. All in all the Blanca’s House experience is one that all should take part in and truly by the end you most definitely will want to come again.
Hola, mi nombre es Mason Remondelli. Esta es mi primera misión a Ecuador con la Blanca’s House. Mi abuelo, Hilmar, y mi tío Steven, han estado en numerosas misiones y quería expereince el viaje de primera mano. Soy un joven en la escuela secundaria y que quería venir a Ecuador para ayudar a la gente y también ver lo que el campo de la medicina es como. Vine con el conjunto y se sumergió inmediatamente en un ritmo alto, medio ambiente emocionante. El viaje involucrado optometría, plásticos, y ortopedia, específicamente cirugías de rodilla. La capacidad de dar a alguien el último regalo de la vista a través de cirugías de cataratas y el emparejamiento de una persona con el par de gafas es muy humillante. Algo que la gente en los Estados Unidos dan por sentado es un momento tan cambiante vida de la población ecuatoriana. En suma experiencia en la Blanca’s House es uno que todos deben participar en y verdaderamente al final lo más definitivamente va a querer volver.
